Series TFXL - Non-Invasive Small-Pipe
Flow Meter
 Series
TFXL is an ultrasonic flow meter that clamps on to the outside of a pipe. It is
designed to replace mechanical flow meters in applications where liquid
conditions tend to damage or impede mechanical flow meter operation.
Installation of the TFXL is cost effective and the meter requires no maintenance. The unit may be ordered with or
without a local display. All meters provide two flow rate outputs: 4-20 mA
analog and simulated turbine meter frequency, permitting the product to be
interfaced with a variety of monitoring equipment. A Windows®-based software
utility allows users to configure, calibrate and troubleshoot.
 The TFXL
integral mount flow meter is offered on pipe sizes from 1/2" (12mm) to 2" (50mm).
It is also available as a remote mount system for
small pipes from 1/2" (12mm) to
2" (50mm) and large pipes from 2" (50mm) and up.

Series TFXP Portable Transit Time
Flow meters feature the world's most advanced non-invasive flow measurement technology -
providing a measuring system with unsurpassed accuracy, versatility, ease of installation
and dependability. Although designed primarily for cleaner liquids, the flow meter operates
reliably with greater amounts of suspended solids or aeration than previous transit time
ultrasonic flow meters were capable of measuring. TFXP is designed for long- or short-term
measurement flow surveys on full-pipe liquid systems and is ideal for verifying calibration
of permanently mounted flow meters of all types.
The flow meter features a tactile keypad, 24-hour battery (rechargeable), removable
200,000-event data logger (optional) and a 64x128 pixel, back-lit graphics display integrated into a
watertight enclosure. All TFX systems utilize Dynasonics' proprietary dual time-base time
expansion algorithm, advanced DSP and digital cross-correlation. TFX also provides an
optical interface which is utilized with ULTRALINK™, a Windows®-based
software utility. The
software utility allows simple in-field programming, calibration and software upgrades.
The cost effective and versatile TFXP flow comes complete with all accessories
necessary for measuring piping systems from 2" (50mm) and higher.

Additional Features of the TFXP include:
- Removable, field-swappable, 200,000-event datalogger module (optional). The logger has an integral DB-9 connection that plugs directly into a PC serial port for very fast 56.7k data uploads.
- Automatic Reynolds Number compensation assures accurate measurements through the laminar, transition and turbulent system flow regions.
- Integral 24 hour rechargeable battery allows extended operation when AC power is not available. Both AC and cigarette socket style power adapters (battery chargers) are included.
- Compartmentalized, padded carrying case keeps the TFXP meter and all of its accessories organized and protected.
- TFX has a flow measuring range that exceeds 4000:1. This feature allows the instrument to measure normal process flow rates as well as flows resulting from leaks in piping and valves.
- User configurable rate and totalizer units include: feet, gallons, ft3, mil-gal, barrels, acre-feet, lbs, meters, liters, m3, mil-liters and kg.
- Non-invasive clamp-on transducers are simple and cost efficient to install. Since the transducers do not contact the liquid, fouling and maintenance are eliminated.
- An integral optical interface and ULTRALINK™, a Windows®-based software utility, provide complete control of system configuration, calibration and diagnostics -- without connecting any wires.

 Series TFXM Transit Time Flow Meters

and low-cost of ownership. The TFX system installs quickly onto liquid piping systems with
its non-invasive, non-fouling transducers and can be configured and operational within minutes.
Up to eight discrete channels/pipes can be utilized with mathematical
formulas to display and output average flow, flow difference, proportions or
sums.
The TFXM includes a standard RS485 module and two additional input/output
plug-in modules. In addition to the eight channels that can be configured
and displayed on the TFXM console, the flow meter has the ability to
daisy-chain up to 127 meters utilizing the RS485 module.
The TFXM is designed for permanent installation on liquid systems and can be
configured and operational within minutes. It has an oversized LCD and an integral
keypad that allows field configuration without the use of a computer. TFXM also provides an
optical interface which can be used with ULTRALINK™, an optional Windows®-based software utility.
The software utility allows simple in-field programming, calibration and software
upgrades. All systems utilize Dynasonics' proprietary dual time-base time expansion
software algorithm, digital cross-correlation, optically isolated input-output busses
and field replaceable duplex communication I/O modules.

Additional Features of the TFXD Flow Meter include:
- Non-invasive clamp-on transducers that are simple and cost efficient to install. Since the
transducers do not contact the liquid, fouling and maintenance are eliminated.
- Automatic Reynolds Number compensation assures accurate measurements through the
laminar, transition and turbulent system flow regions.
- Low power consumption. The TFX system operates on less than 2.5 W, allowing operation
on UPS, solar panel and battery operated power sources.
- The measurement range of the TFX system includes zero flow. Reading accuracy and
reliability, especially at low flow rates, are improved versus mechanical,
DP and vortex shedding flow meter performance.
- TFX has a flow measuring range that exceeds 4000:1. This feature allows the instrument
to measure normal process flow rates as well as flows resulting from leaks in piping and
valves.
